The Arts at Glenala
Glenala State High School has a vibrant Arts Department with
all strands of the Australian Curriculum on offer – Dance, Drama, Media, Music
and Visual Art. With this creative focus
a feature of the school, students are provided with many opportunities to showcase their talents. This includes:
- Glenala's Got Talent Term 2
- Multicultural Concert Term 3
- The Arts Showcase Term 4
- A range of school functions - weekly assemblies, Welcome BBQ, Subject Selection Nights, Awards Ceremonies
- A range of community functions and performances – National Seniors Week, Multifest, Remix dance competition, Creative Generation
An Instrumental Music
program is on offer to students at Glenala SHS.
We have an enthusiastic sound and
lighting student team who manage weekly assemblies and school events and
performances.
Debating
The Glenala debating tradition was renewed in 2015 with two
year 10 teams competing in the Queensland Debating Union competition. This will continue in 2020 under the guidance
of the English Department.
